Changing the link preview image and text

Screenshots show one of our templates. Yours may look slightly different, but the steps are the same.

When you send your link by text or WhatsApp, it usually shows a preview: an image and a line of text. By default, Canva uses a screenshot of your first page as the image and your first page's name as the text.

Changing the image

  1. Click Publish Website.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Switch on Social media link preview.
  4. Upload your own image.

Changing the text

Rename your first page:

  1. Right-click the first page thumbnail at the bottom of the editor.
  2. Click the pencil next to the page name.
  3. Type the new name, such as “You're invited”.

This also changes the first item in your navigation menu. Publish your changes afterwards; apps that have already shown your link may keep the old preview for a while.
